expert guidance, naturally
Hi there! I’m Dr. Michelle . . . a holistic women’s health and wellness expert with over a decade of clinical experience as a naturopathic primary care physician. These days, I serve as a holistic women’s health consultant with a strong focus in hormonal health. If you are seeking a non-pharmaceutical approach to wellness, then I may be the perfect fit! I’ve spent years cultivating the best natural health protocols to support women across their lifespan in health and healing. I absolutely love what I do and truly believe that our beautiful Earth offers everything we need to support our most vital self in mind, body, and spirit - naturally!
WOMEN’S HEALTH IS ALL ABOUT CHANGE
In my mid forties, my body began to shift but the changes were so subtle, initially, I didn’t think much of it. Having always loved exercise and been consistent with my workout routines, I began to notice it was becoming harder for me to build and maintain my muscle mass. Although I continued to maintain a healthy body weight, I experienced some weight gain in my lower abdomen that wouldn’t budge. Most mornings, I woke up with significant joint stiffness and my mood fluctuated more frequently. Occasionally, I would notice heart palpitations that were not attributed to stress, anxiety, or a heart condition. When my skin texture changed and I began to experience significant skin and eye dryness, I knew it was time to evaluate. I ran a full laboratory work-up including an extensive cardiovascular profile but everything was normal. I was healthy but experiencing symptoms.
My menstrual cycles were regular, so I overlooked that my symptoms might be attributable to late reproductive/early perimenopausal changes. Because this has been my area of expertise in clinical practice for almost a decade, it was time to pull out my natural medicine tool box. I already knew that natural therapies shine when it comes to supporting optimal hormonal health and balance. The effects were almost immediate. I began seeing positive results in my skin, energy, mood, and joints. I also lost weight!
MY PASSION IS HORMONAL HEALTH
While I have comprehensive experience in most aspects of women’s health and gynecology, supporting hormonal health is my passion. I particularly enjoy perimenopause and menopause because of my training and clinical expertise in these areas, having witnessed the positive impact that natural therapies can bring. I want women to know that while these changes are normal, there are many natural options available to minimize unwanted symptoms and optimize health as we move through this transition to menopause.
Perimenopause is an often overlooked and misunderstood time in a women’s life. Most providers simply don’t have much training or expertise in this area. Even less understand how to implement natural therapeutics in this stage. In my opinion, perimenopause is one of the most important times for women to take stock of their health and make changes, as optimizing health in this phase sets the stage for a woman’s health in midlife and beyond. As our bodies change, we must also shift our lifestyle and habits to accommodate in a healthy way.
My hope is for all women to embrace the natural ebb and flow of change in their bodies, revering themselves as the powerful and beautiful beings that they are. I’d love to walk alongside you in your health journey. I look forward to hearing from you!
